Who we are and what we do
The Parent Council aims to promote a partnership between the school, it’s pupils and all our parents/ carers. Our objectives are:
• to work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive of all parents;
• to promote partnership between the school and nursery, its pupils and all its parents, to include community facilities within the school;
• to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils; and
• to identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the welfare of the pupils.
The Parent Council is a group of 14 parents/carers who represent the Parent Forum (every parent/carer with a child at the school is part of the ‘Parent Forum’. We meet at least once each term, currently on Zoom. Everyone on the Parent Forum is welcome to attend these meetings if they wish.
The current Office bearers 2022/23 are:

As a Parent Council we try to raise funds for the school each year. Due to the COVD-19 pandemic we have been limited in the fundraising activities we would normally do, However we hope to resume some activities during the 2022/2023 school year. Over the past 2 years the Parent Council has funded or contributed towards:
• New school sports kit
• Parking banners for school railings
• Permanent school noticeboard
• Playground games markings (with further improvements planned)
• Transport costs for Fordell Firs Trip
