Welcome
Welcome to our Cairneyhill Primary and Nursery website, we are delighted that you are taking an interest in what we do here at Cairneyhill.
Cairneyhill Primary and Community School is in the West Fife village bearing the same name which lies to the west of Dunfermline. Opened in 1981, the school provides both nursery and mainstream primary education.
The school role at present is approximately 225 children in school and 50-60 children in nursery attending full days, term time across 2 rooms. The school is also a designated provision centre for pupils with complex additional support needs across 2 classes, currently supporting 20 children.
Cairneyhill Primary is also a community school in the evenings offering a programme of leisure, recreational and educational activities to the school community. An out of school childcare club run by Fife Child Care Strategy, operates in our temporary modular building in the school grounds before and after school.
The whole school community has a shared vision of being a positive, inclusive school which encourages achievement, attainment and expectations creating a basis for participation in lifelong learning. The school strives to provide a welcoming, nurturing, safe and secure environment for all underpinned by our values of Fair, Kind and Polite Ambitious learners.
All our learners are encouraged and supported to explore and share their ideas in class, in assemblies and through a variety of pupil and staff groups .
Pupils and staff enjoy and benefit from strong links with the school community. We value and seek the support of parents in their child's education and make every effort to ensure they are fully aware of and involved in every stage of their child's progress through regular Sways, updates, parents’ evenings and use of Facebook.
We have an active Parent Council who support the work of the school in focussing on its commitment to self-evaluation and improvement.
If you wish further information about the work of the school or have further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch via the school office to arrange for a chat either in person or on the phone
We look forward to hearing from you
Yours in partnership
